Project Description
We really wanted to experiment with these Yakisugi Art Deco panels. We had already cut some of these designs out on the laser, and they looked fantastic. The next stage was to try them out on the CNC and try some different techniques. Some worked, some didn’t. As you can see by the sort of luminescent green resin panel, although I quite like it, the resin was supposed to come out gold on this pour. As I’d not sealed the panel first, the charcoal from the burning process must have mixed with the gold colour and created this almost glowing green effect. As you can see by some of the bigger panels, they came out really nice. I will be selling the panels that aren’t already sold, and can see me delving a lot further into this technique as I love the outcomes. The yakisugi technique also allows me to feel like a child again, nothing like setting things alight!
