Project Description

This little Peugeot Partner is going to be the work van for the next few months so I decided to give it a little work van conversion. On our design software I drew out my plan for the main unit with drawers, measured twice and then cut the parts out on the CNC. I even snuck in the Kernow Coast Carpentry engravings on the fronts of the drawers for a touch of branding. I was going to purchase 1400mm heavy duty drawer runners but decided to take the chance on building the drawers out like you see. It has worked extremely well and not only do the drawers have a smooth action, they can also hold plenty of weight. The box was fit into the van and then the final trims cut and fit after the box. This setup is perfect for work, and I can put a bed on top for if I want to pop out around Cornwall for an evening or weekend. A perfect little Cornwall van conversion for myself.

When I get some spare time, I’m going to draw one last iteration of the plan, but with a few small changes. I’m going to put a handle hole at the back of each drawer so you would be able to pull the drawer out of the unit completely but with all of your tools/camping gear still in it, and either carry that onto the work site or campsite with a friend. I’m also going to make it parametric, so all sizes can be changed easily.

If you’re based in Cornwall or close by and you fancy this style or a more bespoke Cornwall van conversion then get in touch and we’ll be more than happy to help. Have a look through our portfolio for more examples of our work.
