This table has got to be one of the favourite jobs completed so far at the workshop. It wasn’t without a few challenges but the end result really does look stunning in person. The clients gave a good brief for the bespoke work, made out of a beautiful slab of Cornish Ash supplied by Cornwall Reclaim. They asked for the leaf inlays in place of traditional bow tie methods to go down through the centre of the piece, not only creating strength for the natural shakes that went through the piece, but also adding a very effective artistic flair to the table. These inlays were made possible through the use of our CNC in the workshop, and due to the nature of how they were made and fitted in the table, you will really be hard pushed to find this sort of style anywhere else in the UK, and certainly in Cornwall. The table was finished with 7 coats of a high gloss finish to create this stunning unique Cornish piece, that the clients and I were over the moon with once in position.
